Straight answers for people who own cars

Road-tested guides on automotive design, accessories, engine performance, luxury cars and off-roading - free to read, measured not imagined.

Why Catricerasbery

We test cars, parts and maintenance the way owners actually live with them. Every guide is written after real miles, real receipts and calibrated measurements - never from a press release. We buy what we test, disclose every relationship and correct mistakes in public within two days. The result is plain-English advice you can act on whether you are buying your first car or keeping a twenty-year-old one on the road.

How we test

Highway economy comes from GPS-verified loops at real speeds, not dashboard claims. Charging and refuelling happen under observation with timers running, and cargo tests use the same standard luggage set every time, so numbers compare fairly across years and rivals. We publish test temperatures, observed economy and real transaction prices alongside each verdict, because context is what turns a data point into a decision.

Driver-assistance systems earn credit only when they help in real traffic without nagging. Infotainment must work with gloves and sunglasses. Maintenance advice traces to the manufacturer's schedule and to part numbers we can source. Nothing on this site is sponsored, and every external figure links to a source you can check.

02

03

Engine Performance

Performance is easy to advertise and hard to engineer. A dyno graph can show a peak number while hiding poor response, high.

04

Luxury Cars

Luxury is one of the most abused words in the car market. It can mean genuine craftsmanship, a quieter cabin and seats that.

05

Off Roading

Off-roading is less about brute force than about judgement. Tyre pressure, gearing, a well-chosen line and a willingness to.
